In an effort to chase down higher quality traffic and gain improved rankings in the search engine pages, most experienced adult webmasters nowadays do a fair bit of work towards building long tailed keywords. This can be pretty successful in that it gives a page a very good chance of ranking highly for a particular search term. That term may not be searched as often as others, and so will return less traffic, but that traffic will be targetted and interested in what you are selling. It's a technique which works very well with splogs, free sites and gallery pages....

It happens though that sometimes you hit lucky and get a top ranking for a page on a long tailed keyword phrase which is searched quite often, hundreds of times a day in fact. But you notice that despite this you are not getting the traffic you would expect. The search engine's tools tell you that 'Sexy teens in bikinis' is searched 300 times a day, and you have top ranking for that term, but hits to your page are low from that source, maybe only ten or twelve. So what's going on?
