Page 1 of 3 Stick to the rules and there's money to be made from free sites. Break them and you may never work in this town again. In the adult Internet business the phrase 'free site' has a very specific meaning. It doesn't encompass all adult sites that are free, but is a particular format for small sites which are then used to promote paysites.
The success of a free site depends entirely on how much traffic you can drive to it, and that means it needs to be listed in as many directories and search engines as possible. That alone is the main reason why free sites have an accepted format. This format is important because link list and directory owners have to sift through a lot of submissions every day and will discount any sites that do not fit the pattern they are expecting. Added to that, these list owners set very strict rules about what they will and will not accept in their directories. Let's face it, they have to put up with a lot of second rate crap being posted by webmaster wannabes who haven't even bothered to read the rules. Anyway, let's take a look at the format. Bear in mind that the advice given here is intended to help you build a generically acceptable free site for submission to an adult directory or link list. I say generic because every list has different rules. Make sure you read those rules before submitting your site. That said, if you follow these guidelines you will satisfy most of those conditions. WHAT IS A FREE SITE?The basic structure is one warning page, a main page and two gallery pages. There is a very basic example for you here. Visitors arrive at the warning page, move to the main page and then choose a gallery of thumbnail images to view. These days you should also include a fourth page containing the 2257 information from your sponsors site. |
