Page 1 of 3 If you have read our introduction to the Thumblogger blogging platform then you will be familiar with the three basic components of the system. The posts, the content boxes, and the templates. My aim here is not to re-cover that ground but to walk you through the process I follow in setting up a new blog.
Of course you need to be registered with the Thumblogger site before you can start building, so I will assume you have already been through the signing up process.
Creating A New Blog Get started by logging into your account and click on the 'Add A New Blog To Your Account' button at the top. A pop-up box will then appear asking you for some basic information about the new blog you wish to create. Fill in the form with your chosen subdomain and give your blog a name. Make sure the 'Listed' radio button is selected if you wish your blog to be publically viewable. Thumblogger offers a drop down list of categories to which you can add your blog so you must then select one from the list. This feature is pretty much deprecated now though so don't worry too much if you make a bad choice. It really won't make much difference in the long run. Finally, to complete step one, fill in the captcha and click the 'Add Blog' button to create your new blog.
Naturally I need some content to work with whilst building our new blog. For this purpose I have decided to build our blog to promote the Thai solo teen paysite noikanya.com. Noi's site is promoted through an affiliate program operated by My Cash Program and so I will be using banners and content provided by that sponsor as well as one or two other banners from sponsors with similar content. There are so many blogs hosted on Thumblogger these days, (around half a million according to Google), that it's perfectly possible that your chosen subdomain has been already taken. Don't despair if this is the case. There are a few things you can try to work around this. For example you could insert a hyphen between words or you could include an additional word either before or after the title you are trying to register. So something like 'teenbabes' could become 'teen-babes' or maybe 'hot-teen-babes' if you are having problems. Using hyphens is not a problem as far as the major search engines are concerned. They usually treat them as a space. Underscores on the other hand should be avoided as many believe that they have a negative impact on your search engine placement.
